When stress hits hard, you’ll usually find me doing one of two things: working out or journaling. And maybe cuddling my dog Max a bit too tight. Maybe a coffee with a friend. Okay not just two things, but what’s a girl to do?

Right now, I should be writing a research proposal assessing the experiences of women undergoing breast cancer screening in Ontario. Instead, I am (productively) procrastinating, I’m so excited to get this blog out into the world.

If you know me, you know I never run out of things to say. But more than talking (lol), I love connecting with others. While this blog isn’t the same as face-to-face conversations, I hope something I share here helps someone feel a little less alone in their experiences, whether it’s about applying to grad school or med school, or just life stuff. I often turn to blogs—or Reddit, though my relationship with r/premedcanada is a bit complicated to say the least.

During one exam-season , I was painting my nails while listening to this podcast episode. And it hit me—being in my mid-twenties (is 24 mid?) might mean I won’t have a career for a few more years I continue grad school, but I do have the luxury of exploration. I’ve been toying with the idea of creating something to express myself for way too long. This blog feels like the right step—not just for me, but hopefully for a small community that might find some comfort in my whirlwind of thoughts.

Academics, career, beauty and style, health, life, and even a bit of politics—if it sparks conversation, I’m diving in. I’ve never shied away from exploring topics that challenge perspectives. Along the way, I’m also pushing myself creatively. Creative writing may not be my strongest suit, but it’s a challenge I’m excited to take on.

I encourage you to find a hobby that offers you an outlet. I want to take this space to recognize the privilege of having the time and resources to pursue a personal interest—something many, including my parents and grandparents, didn’t always have—I’ve learned that sometimes an outlet is essential to staying grounded and showing up as your best self. Whether you’re working in a field that serving the public, or simply navigating daily life, prioritizing yourself is an act of strength. Taking time for what replenishes you isn’t indulgent; it’s what allows you to continue giving to the world around you.

So here we are. Thanks for being here, I am excited for what is to come. And I’m excited to connect with you.
